Later this month I am going to replace my door hinges. That gives me some time to get them painted, and the paint will have time to cure. If you were doing the job, what would you paint them with? What kind of primer?

If i was doing mine again, id possibly powdercoat, as I get some done from time to time. But not necessary. Mine are black so simple, think I used a basic etch then a gloss black epoxy over the top. That was 20 years ago. Mine were used originals I rebuilt. I think I just used a wire brush and removed anything loose. Not how id do it now, but result is the same.

black powder coat.
nothing to deal with, no prep, no primer., no paint, just drop them off at your local shop and $100 bucks later pic them up ready to install.
Problem is finding someone, but let me start looking now

If there isn't one nearby that you already use and were already going to, no point.
I think I found two in the area. Seems like an individual that runs a motorcycle restoration place, and a way larger place that has a massive setup. They can do things larger like entire cars if they wanted to.

I did not think about this to now but "color". This car is black, what was the hinge color on a black car?

Thanks! I pretty much brought these hinges back from the dead. One of the previous owners already put in repair bushings but either they did it wrong or they wore out too. I had to weld up and redrill a few of the holes that were wallowed out to the point that they wouldn't hold the largest repair bushings. I had to use rollers from a 3rd gen f-body as the originals were busted off.
