So at the start of summer, I decided to get out of paintball with all my fishing tackle from years past sitting in the garage I went out and got my license, and figured I would fish when I had some extra time. It is way less expensive then paintball, so I am saving money but still having a blast.
So far this year I have just fished Freshwater, and off the shore went out in the waiters for the first time the other night, and caught 31 Small Mouth bass all small in size.
I kept going to the same lake, Loon Lake, catching these small bass caught over 70 in 3 days. Then I went to another lake tonight 3rd cast, this monster Pike grabs my topwater, and plummets into the water not used to the force of a bigger fish, my fishing pole was in the shape of a U. It is a lightning rod made of graphite. When I landed it, it had taken all 6 hooks, 3 in the bottom of the mouth, and 3 inside the inner lip. I grabbed the pliers out of the tackle box and started to pry them out of the fish, my t-shirt covered in blood, and dirt from the fish. I finally got the hooks out, I wasnt sure if it was going to live but I put it back in the water after measuring it 21". It stayed on its side and then slowly swam about 10ft over and hovered in the water,no longer on its side. Then a couple, from China who cannot speak English where out for a walk. They seen me fishing and came over, and started to ask questions about the Lake, Area, and the fish. His wife could not understand why I was not catching the fish that was hovering inches from shore, I explained that I had already caught and released it, but she insisted that I was supposed to keep it.
LOL
Good night of fishing. And the Chinese couple learned the word " Pickerel".
Here are some pictures I took while fishing around with my cell phone
