Hey all, I’m currently dropping in a 350 into my 81 firebird that originally had the Buick 3.8l. I’ve got the new motor in between the fenders, and I’ve got 4 of the 6 bellhousing bolts in holding the engine and trans together, but the engine is sitting too far forward in the engine bag to reach the motor mounts. I’ve got new mounts for the Chevy and moved them to the bolt holes on the subframe that I read I would need, but the mounts on the engine are sitting about 2 inches in front of the subframe mounts and I cannot get the engine and trans to go back any further, any advice on things I could try?

I've got the same car that I done the same swap to about 2 years ago.....Buick 3.8 to sbc and the only thing I can think of is you must be in the wrong holes for the mounts

Hey all, I’ve got an 81 with the Buick 3.8l that’s dead. So I’m planning on swapping in a mild 350 to get the car running again. I was curious about the motor mount situation. Will the mounts on the subframe need to be moved, or do they stay in the same place as the v6 and the b8 just drops in...
