Dropping in a SBC into an 81

Hey all, I’m currently dropping in a 350 into my 81 firebird that originally had the Buick 3.8l. I’ve got the new motor in between the fenders, and I’ve got 4 of the 6 bellhousing bolts in holding the engine and trans together, but the engine is sitting too far forward in the engine bag to reach the motor mounts. I’ve got new mounts for the Chevy and moved them to the bolt holes on the subframe that I read I would need, but the mounts on the engine are sitting about 2 inches in front of the subframe mounts and I cannot get the engine and trans to go back any further, any advice on things I could try?

What trans are you using w/ the SBC?

Doesn't really matter.... the thread starter asked this question in May 2022. Received good responses:

Apparently never followed up on that thread, and forgot. Soooo..... he posted again in August 2022, started this thread, and never signed into the site to look at the responses.

Closing thread.
