Hello all, first post here so I'll make it an easy one.

I have owned a '90 V6 3.1L auto since '95, every once in a while when driving at night I can't help to wonder if there is supposed to be a light to see which gear the trans is in, because, well, there is'nt one. Have I been driving all these years with a burn out bulb or is there just no light to see which gear your in?

As I recall, there was no gearshift indicator light in my 86 T/A. I remember being pleased that there was one in the 98 that replaced it.

Yeah, my gut always told me there was'nt one, but I can't help to think there should be, it'd be nice anyway. Come to think of it, there's not even a physical indicator in there. I guess the engineeers just figured Firebird owners don't need no stinkin indicator..

After looking through the owners manual I've found there is a bulb listed for the " automatic transmission indicator", bulb no. 37 to be exact. Now to figure out how to get at it.
