I have a 1987 firebird and there is an air hose comming out from under battery tray and it seems to be attached to a fan motor under the tray it comes up inside the pass side inner finder and curves out towards engine does this connect to anything on motor? it has come on when i was driving one day i noticed it when i stoped car and got out opened hood and it was blowing air through the tube.
thanks

does it come on when you have the a c going ????

maybe it's someones idea of a supercharger?

Does it look OEM?

Perhaps some emissions device? If it's to do with emmisions, there should be a decal on the rad support, or there was. Couple things to consider, but just guesses.

it could a blower tube to the motor cool my fiero has those same in diameter to keep the outside of the block or something like that dont know never seen or heard about that before
p
Yea it stumps me I came home today and after i turned the car off it was blowing air it stayed on for about 3 min then went off.hopefully someone will see this and know
thanks for the reply..

is the tube over by the exhaust manifolds or by the alternator cause a buddy on the fiero fourm told me there air tubes to keep the outer casing of the alternator cool so it doesnt overheat the regulator inside the alternator.
That is interesting,I'll look into that. The tube comes up from under battery tray and runs along inside fender, then curves just at the shock tower and stops.Looks like it should hook to something.
