Hey guys, I put a Ram Air hood on my '02 V6 bird. Just because I love the look of it. I know it doesn't improve my performance much, if at all with my stock air box. But I'm wondering if the air box base from a WS6 would fit on the V6 because it has a wider opening for air to flow through. The opening on the V6 is about an inch or so, whereas on the V8 it's almost double I think.

Compared to this:

It looks like all the bolts would line up and I'm pretty sure my stock air lid would fit on it too. So I'm wondering if this would work. I would just really like to have an actual functional hood before I go out and buy the SLP CAI. Although maybe in the end the SLP intake would give me more air flow anyway. What do you guys think?

Yes it will work just need to custom make tubing from the lid to the throttle body.

Oh, so I won't be able to use my existing lid on it?

You should be able to use your current lid but it will sit higher than it does now.
