You could set it up on jacks. Someone told me they do this to prevent rodents from crawling up into the engine and chewing on the wires. Probably wouldn't hurt the tires either.

I would fill the gas tank up and put some fuel stabilizer in it, let it run, then unplug the fuel pump fuse and start it up to get the pressure out of the system. That's just me, I'm sure people would recommend against it for whatever reason that the pressure helps keep moisture out blah blah but I'm not sure.

Or

Don't do the fuel pump thing and just start it up once in a while so it doesn't get gummed up.

Put it on jack stands put a tire protect fluid on the tires to prevent them from drying out. I use blue blazes from malco. Go out once a week start it let it run until its at operating temperature then shut it off.

Thanks,

I think i will set it on jacks, i've just heard everything from "thats bad for the suspension to be fully extended for such a long period of time" to "the suspension was decined for the load, dont jack it up"

I've found more logic and more persons recomend set the car on jack stands.

Well whenever we deployed most of us put our cars on jack stands to save the tires. If your in a situation where you can drive your bird a couple of blocks once or twice a week then leave out the Jack stands. Your best bet is no jack stands, put stabil in your fuel, tire protector on your tires and take it on 10 minute drive once a week so nothing locks up and you keep your fluids flowing and nothing dries out. Your best bet us to drive it but if you can't you can put it on jack stands, or go buy some old cheap used tires to put on it so that your good tires don't rot or get messed up.

I don't place my convertible on jack stands but I do scatter a few moth balls around the engine compartment, under the car and INSIDE the trunk and passenger compartment. Seems rats don't like the smell much either. I've also had good luck keeping' 'em critters out of my boat with the moth balls, too. (of course fuel stabilizer.) Firebird is too much trouble but on my old outboard I used to pull the plugs, squirt a little WD-40 in the cylinder and then put the plug back in.
