i mean, we must have some members in nj that would love to have a meet and greet. i see too many bird driving around for this not to happen. even though the last thread about this failed (no need to use the search
) i deff think this is viable. so...whos in?

Keep trying.

Getting people together isn't easy. Pick a solid date and place. promote it best you can and with some luck, you can get some folks to show up.

For me, Jersey is not too terribly far. Few hours. But I am booked very solid through most of the fall, and then before long my bird will be nested for winter.

well it would be preferable to get some people out before it gets too cold out. fall is a great time to get some nice pics and cruise around. harriman state park in ny (right on the border of ny and nj) is a beautiful place to do both. i was just amazed when i found this forum had 2 posts in it. most other car forums ive ever been on had the most popular regional forums being the tri-state area. shocker.

I agree it would be nice. Personally I have a very full schedule. Plus still flood recovering. And it is looking more and more like my car is now mostly put away for winter. It was just one of those bad years.

Well Morod, that is the same issue with Florida. We are a large state with an excessive amount of birds and great weather all year round but getting a chapter formed is almost impossible let alone a meeting. The last one I spent a lot of time and prep work on, drove 150 miles and 3 birds showed up. The location was a the Orlando Speedway. Two of the three raced a few passes and then we had a 20 mile cruise to dinner at a BBQ place. It was fun but very low turnout. I even posted the meeting on craigslist and nothing. Do not feel bad, its hard to get a bunch of people to have the same day off work and with free time at the same time. Keep trying and mabe do the meet at a bigger car show to start so there is more incentive and people already planning a family day.

it doesnt even have to be as official as starting a chapter. maybe just a bbq in a state park, everyone brings something and we all just hang out and bullpoop about the same things we talk about on here. its always good to meet people in the same community your in, that share the same interests.

Very true, when I was in my Impala club, we met all the time with about 20 or so members just to bs. It was fun and a reason to get out of the house.

exactly. ive been on mustang forums and we met every saturday just to do w.e. same thing with bmw forums (except most of them were pricks), and i figured this firebirds would be the same as any muscle car forums. constant meet ups, constant cruises. Doesnt seem like the community is very tight knit unless its through the forum.

One issue is many believe they have to take their cars to meet. This isn't true. Bring the Daily Driver. Just get together.

but also keep in mind this has been one very difficult year for many. Myself included. Probably one of the worst in my life. Even local clubs and gatherings suffered a lot this year.

hang in there. Better times will come. and everyone must get past the part where their bird is on the road and running. If I can't take mine, my daily driver will get me there.

Just with my job my schedule gets booked months in advance. then add trying to flood recover on top of it. I simply don't have time to sleep anymore, yet try and get to a car show. I even missed out on Hershey AACA only 5 miles from me.

You hit that on the head there Dan. This has been a very tough year for my household too, I lost my job, and now with school full time and less money I barely have the funds to keep my birds running let alone go out to a car show 100 miles away. I'm hoping to suffer now and get the rewards later(after I graduate). Also I'm getting a part time job hopefully starting next Friday so that may help get my DD T/A running perfect. But it has been very rough for people all across all the forums not just birds. Let's all hope for better times in the near future.

We've all had it rough. A meet is a nice way to get away from it all though. Stress relief. Taking meets and cruises out of the picture, if there are tri-state area members I would think they would use their forum! Lol I'm trying to make this place like "cheers"
