Yeah, I just welded some square tubing to some stock plates, and made some for our '68 Bird Bracket car. Worked great. She won lots of races with that Bird.

My new nostalgia bracket Bird project still has the old Lakewood bars on it. :smile22:

Thanks for all the links but I just got a set of comp engineering bars for $50 local and they still look brand new other than he cut one of the u bolts

Now to decide if I change the shock tabs to fit Gen 1 it just buy Gen 2 shocks

These are not rusted inside, I am thinking about welding caps on them any reason I should not?
If you weld caps on the front, you can't get to the snubber nuts, should you ever need to add new snubbers. The bars on my Bird are probably 30 or more years old. They are not near rusted thru. But, if you really wanna cover the ends, to keep moisture out, I'd just fab up some sort of removable plug/cover, for the front. :smile22:
