I am having issues with my firebird. It has the crossfire fuel injection system, 305 v8. Lately, while using the throttle, if i try to accelerate too fast, it cuts all power. If I keep holding down the pedal it completely kills the engine but if i let off the throttle it will idle back but keep running. If I do a slow start, it does not seem to be an issue and responds as it should. The fuel injectors were checked and they appear to be functioning properly with steady 'cones'. Any ideas? I am wondering if it may be flooding the engine when i push the throttle down too hard but i'm not that familiar with this type of engine fuel injection system. Are there any specific things to check/replace before searching hard for a mechanic familiar with this setup? Thanks in advance.

crossfire injection is very tempermental maybe the fuel pump is getting weak wouldent hurt to try a fuel presure gauge and also check fuel filter. maybe under load it leans out or funs out of fuel presure and flow
