I've always had a very interesting question about the fourth gen cars both V6 and V8 alike. Why are some of the taillight fillers (the thing that either says Firebird, Formula, or Trans Am) just gloss black and others have the name and Phoenix emblem colored in red? I know some people put decals on them to make them look that way, but I mean was this a factory option or what? Both of my cars have (or had on the V6) them in gloss black, but pretty much every Firebird I see on Google has them in red. Even the 2002 WS6 in Forza does. So how'd they all end up on them (because they look awesome in my opinion)?

All Formulas came with no decals/no name on the taillight filler. "Formula" (or "Formula V8" in 93/94) decal was on the right side of the bumper.

T/A's had "Trans Am" on top and the bird below.

A WS6 could be either a T/A or a Formula, so they would follow the above.

Not sure what the V6's had from the factory.... maybe just the bird.
