I'm saving up cash to rebuild a stock 326 motor. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I can and can't do. I would like to keep the motor since it's original to the car (67' Firebird). I would like to beef it up a lot more than stock configurations. I have gotten qoutes from different shops but in reality I would like to know if the motor can be upgraded drastically. I don't want to pay someone who will tell me that it can be done when infact there just some much you can do. Ofcourse everything has a limit. I saw this web site which the shop claims to take a 326 motor and turn it into a 420 hp engine. Is this BS. I really don't wamt to go that brutal. The cost for this upgrade was advertised for $6,77. I believe.
