I have a 1975 firebird and the ignition switch housing is cracked to pieces along with the internals becase of the PO hammering the bejezuz out of the key switch,I have access to the steering column from a 1980 firebird and was wondering if this will be a direct swap,Thanks for any information you can provide on this.

According to the firebird part suppliers 1970-1976 are the same. I believe they changed the size of the output shaft in 1977. They made it smaller. GM also went to a different steering gear in 77.

I would say use the 80 column, steering gear, & coupler. But I don't know if the other steering parts in your 75 are compatible with the 80 parts.
