Hi Steve and welcome to FBN!

Riveting the motor back on to the door provides a comprehensive way of securing the motor without the worry of vibrating nuts off of the bolts. However; if you put some investment into self locking nuts (any Lowe's or Home Depot), you could get by safely. Time wise ... hmmm, if you're a thrifty mechanic, I would say an easy hour. If this is your first time and a novice, plan on two hours or more. No special tools required but it would be nice to have a clip tool for the door panel (any auto parts store). And we are always here if you need assistance.
