i made my own CAI on my 3.1V6 by stuffing a K&N filter on the end of the rubber airboot and just removed all of the old airbox. now, whenever it idles in the drive gear my oil pressure drops real low, the temperature rises real high and the engine sounds like its got a cold (the tach bounces like it would if i had a big-block and it feels like the whole car is gonna shake apart) could this be because of the air/fuel mixture being off from the different CAI? if not then ive got absolutly no idea why it does that.

p.s.

i really wish i had a spare $700 so i can rip out this V6 thats giving me so many problems and drop in an LS1

Im thinkin check for unhooked sensors, maybe a vacuum leak somewhere. I dont think changing the CAI like that would affect it so drastically.

the filters actually bigger than the old one...and the sensor that goes into the stock airbox i just plugged it in and tucked out of the way because its one that if you unhook it itll make the engine light come on

You might want to try to find some way to plug that IAT sensor back in to your CAI. I just drilled a small hole in my tubing and then used some RTV to seal it. The problem could be that your IAT is reading a real high temperature and leaning out the fuel mixture.
