Hi, I took my Carb off and noticed it has a manual choke? It is a quadrajet, and it is now rebuilt, should I put an automatic choke on it? I have no idea why it has a manual choke? previous owner must have done this..... it has the heat tube that comes up from the manifold, so it must have been automatic at one point? I don't like the idea of this manual choke, its not a frikn tractor!

you will need the proper element for it if you convert to the old school heat pipe activated.

I would put the stock choke back on. You should remove the heat tube and make sure it is not ate up with corrosion making an exhaust leak and the stock choke not work right. If you replace everything back to a stock choke set up, and have it adjusted right, it will work fine.

No, I just got the car, its winter here and its in storage........Never pulled the Knob! lol
