I am planning on replacing all of my leaf spring bushings on my 1980 Trans Am including the isolators and preferably all the hardware as well. I have read alot of posts and found some part numbers but still looking for some suggestions.

What is the preferred bushing for the eye of the leaf spring? The originals have the metal sleeve but the majority of what I see now are just the bushing without the metal sleeve. I do see the ones with the metal sleeve but they seem less common. Is it personal taste or is the bushing with the metal sleeve preferred or just the bushing only?

Does anyone have part numbers of what they have ordered and worked well? There seems to be so many options / brands etc, not sure if any are better than others.

Thanks,
Scott

If you're looking at stock type rubber bushings get them with sleeve otherwise you'll pinch the rubber bushing causing increased binding. If you've got a local spring shop in your area go talk to them.

If you're looking for more of a performance type use you might consider urethane and/or spherical front eye bushing types. Both can be found scrolling down here http://pro-touringf-body.com/Suspension_kits.html

Great thanks. My Trans Am is all stock, so I will just go with the metal sleeve bushings.
