Hello Firebird Nation!

At the beginning of Fall, I trailered this '80 Firebird from MI to CT.

It was originally a Formula with the turbo 305 in a former life. The previous owner turned it into a 77/78 Trans Am clone (but left the 80 taillights, which I actually like better).

It has a '71 Pontiac 400 that runs really well. The body is in surprisingly good shape, the interior is another story. I just finished gutting the interior out of it (well, almost... I'm going to work on removing the dash over the next week). Pretty much every interior piece needs to be bought or redone. It also needs floor patches in the front driver and passenger footwells.

It is turning into a father-son project with my 9-year-old. He isn't afraid of turning a wrench!

Happy to be here, I learn a new thing about this car every day!

Great car! I really like the 77-78 nose with 79-81 tails as well. IMO the 80-81's are fair game for whatever, for many reasons. I would like to do that nose swap myself in the future.
Thanks for sharing.
