I put the dual remote on my Firebird around 35000 miles. It's 200k+ today and still runs nice - easy starts on even the coldest days. Somewhere about 120,000 miles - in front of Wal-Mart - a cinder block fell off a pickup truck in front of me. We're all scooting along about 50 MPH (or more) and had nowhere to go and little time to react. I hit the block, car was launched into the air. I pulled over, opened the door and noticed a little stream of oil from the oil pan, and drove to my regular tire/brake garage just down the road. JB weld and later that day, off we go. That weekend, I had a GM mechanic friend who works from his personal garage put a new oil on. He was never impressed with my 'new-fangled' ideas on synthetic oil and filtration. He said that was the CLEANEST oil pan he'd ever seen in his 20+ years experience.
