I have not seen anyone post anything about this on FBN so I thought I would start a topic on this for anyone who is interested.

I installed this on my 70 in January of this year and so far 750 miles later I am really liking it. This is a self learning throttle body fuel injection produced by FiTech. I looked at the MSD and Holley terminator set up but for $2500 I just couldn't justify it plus my Q Jet works so well. With my new motor installed and the 80 TA in the works with a 455 build for it I was needing another carb the Q jet I had was set up perfect for the RA4 cam and 230 cfm 6x heads which is going in the 80. I was needing one for my 70 and I thought I would give this FiTech a try. At $995 from summit or jegs and a $50 off sale it was not that much more than a good carb and since I already had the Tanks Inc. fuel delivery set up I was ready to go.

These are a few post I made leading up to the install. I had the tanks inc running my q jet with a return regulator. As far as the intake goes this throttle body has both square bore and spread bore bolt patterns but the throttle blades are the same as a square bore. that was the reason for the intake mod. If you had an edelbrock performer or rpm they would bolt up fine.

The Fitech is a self contain unit and the fact that the Ecu and regulator was all part of the throttle body had me sold. I had to attatch a temp sensor, O2 sensor, Tach wire and power and ground. As far as fuel goes they offer a fuel command center that uses your existing mechanical pump to fill a small sump with an electric pump that does not need a return. It runs $395 and from what I have read is pretty easy to install.

It has been a pleasure to drive just turn the key and it fires up. no stinky exhaust, no dead spots in acceleration and great fuel mileage. After a few miles it had excellent throttle response from off idle WOT to cruise. I know you can set up a Q jet to perform as well but it takes a lot of skills to get it this good and temperature and elevation and what not will effect the tune. with this unit it is constantly adjusting so it stay in tune and performs the same no matter what. It will also control timing if you chose to do so.

Joe, What intake are you using. I have been considering trying a torker II single plane. Even with MT ET street drag radial I can not get my car to hook up. So much low end torque and too low of first gear with the 700 r4 trans. I have been thinking that the single plane would reduce some of this and help out in the top end. It also seems that with efi the single plane intake may have some advantages

Thanks Joe, I may give this a try. I have not had a chance to modify my RA air cleaner to fit over the fuel lines on this but it well only take a slight dimple to make it work. If I go to a none stock height intake though there is no hope for that may have to stick to a 14" drop base. I just like the way the RA snorkel intake looks at the car shows and no one has any idea its Fuel Injected.

They were borowed from a friend 255/60/15 with 16 lb air pressure. I am going to purchase a set of 275/60/15 and a set of 10" wheels for the track. Here is a video of the et streets on black top I was trying to heat them up in the video. after that I tried a regular lanch and still spun hard.

Just got mine from Summit the Fitech 600hp version. Also, picked up a Fitech fuel command center. The last of the part came in so I hope to install them this week.
you will love it. un fortunately I have not drove mine for the last two months due to building my son and his family a new house ( not as fun as it sounds when your doing it in adition to a 60hour work week) but started up the car last week first try and ran great. It really is a nice system.
