fan motors stopped?

The fans in the LT1 are controlled by the ECM (computer). The ECM reads the coolant temperature from a coolant temp sensor in the water pump housing. Stock fan "on" temperatures are programmed at 226*F for the 1st fan and 235*F for the 2nd fan. Make sure your coolant is at least this hot before expecting the fans to come on. Make sure the coolant temp gauge is accurate, because the gauge reads the coolant temp from another coolant temp sensor in the driver's side head.

First, turn your A/C on and see if either of the fans come on. At least one of them should, no matter what the coolant temp. If they don't, check the relays (under hood service box) and the fuse in the underhood box. If they are OK, look at the fusible link.

There is a fusible link on the red wire from the red battery "+" box on the pasenger inner fender, to the +12V pin of both fan relays.
