Looking for the spec info on what diode is used in the ac compressor connector. Im currently rebuilding the harness for my 76 formula but the diode numbers have faded away so am trying to find info on what size to use.

I assume its just a basic diode like a 1N4001/1N4007 but what spec amperage should it carry?

Any help would be appreciated.

I can't say what the diode is, but it never hurts to install a diode, for the compressor, that has a higher voltage & amp rating. I think a 20 to 25 volt rating and 3 amps will be more than enough to do the job.

Be sure to install new diode with anode & cathode in the correct direction in wire.
