I am going to install a roll bar into my 1978 Trans Am.

Has anyone installed the Detroit Speed Engineering Roll Bar Kit?

Are you satisfied with it? What are some good alternatives to the DSE offering?

I know the DSE roll bar is not NHRA certified, but that is not a major concern of mine. I will also be installing weld in sub frame connectors at the same time, now that I have my interior removed.

After these projects are done, I plan on shooting the interior and trunk with Lizardskin.

I running a Butler 455 crate engine, TKO 600 5 speed, McLeod twin disc 11" clutch, Bilsteen Shocks, 4:11 Posi Traction Unit, Global West Upper and Lower Control Arms and solid bushings for the body mounts.

Thanks in advance.

As my friends @ hillbilly racing would say, get some steel tubing, a pipe bender from harbor freight, and make your own roll cage. Then weld it in.

You can get economically priced steel tubing from scrape metal dealers in your area.
