Howdy everyone,

I am preparing to get my bird back on the road. (Will still be a couple of months) - First thing I need to do is clean out its fuel tank.(as I'm sure its pretty bad) I haven't driven nor started the car in about 6 or 7 years. If I remember correctly she has less than a quarter of a tank. Is there any helpful hints to this, beyond the obvious. Fuel lines and pump -? should I change the pump-? how do I flush the fuel line-? Disposing of what used be gas-?

Thanks, for any advise,
Wolf

Hy Wolf,

after replace the tank, you can flush the

line by air pressur from the fuelpump in

front or better you replace them complete.

I paid here in germany for the hoses 20€ for 10m.

I thing yours are worn after 7 years.

For cleaning the tank use white vinegar or backery powder.

Or you make it crazy like this

Mount the tank on a home beton mashine fill the tank with 5 hands of sand

Let the mashine work for 2h. Remove all of the tank, flush with alot of water

Then drying and buy fueltank sealer like this

So long
