Do any of you guys worry that posting your car pics and telling about all the mods you have could make you a target for a car theif? I would be scared to post a pic of my car and describe its mods if I had half the cars on this site. Mine isnt worth stealing but some of the cars you guys have are so awesome and valuable that the thought has to be in the back of your mind that at any minute some asshole is going to steal it. Crispy's post about the wierd guy calling about buying the car and then seeming so strange, got me thinking about this. And just to think that so many of us let people test drive our cars when we sell them. I never let anyone drive my vehicles without me in them, but many do. How many of you would? I would be too scared. If I did then it would only be after the person handed me the cash to hold as security deposit, which also lets you know they are serious. It becomes especially scary when you consider that it could be someone from our own forum here, or even worse a so called friend like the one that stole Scott's old classic.

Yeah I also will not let anyone I dont really know drive my car without me. In the back of my mind I do wonder sometimes if when I leave my car somewhere if it will be there when I return. I have had a few occations when I was very uncomfortable with the attention it was getting. It doesnt help matters much when I have friends and family telling me they worry someone trying to take it from me when I am out driving. But as much as it means to me I always remember that it is a material possession that can be replaced.

I agree with you guys that not all material things can be replaced. I didnt word that the way I meant it.

My reference to my car being able to be replaced was to the fact that my friends and family worry about someone trying to pull a scam to get me out of the car so they could take it. Like bumping me at a stop sign so I would get out. That happens out here alot. My reference was if that happened and it was between me or my car I would let the car go cause it can be replaced I cant. I myself worry more about vandalizism than it being taken. Hell Yeah I would be crushed if anything happen to my Firebird that car is one of the top things in my life next to my family. Definently there are very rare cars that can not be replaced. I have felt the pain of a loss. In high school I wanted a Mustang GT more than anything so when I got my first job I got to get one but I only had it 2 months and it was stolen and totalled out. I still feel the pain of that. My sympathies to any one that has had a vehicle stolen because I know how it feels. I`ll try to word my thoughts better next time.
