Brake Question 1979

I have a 1979 Trans Am and there is a loud noise from the rear tire on driver side when applying the brake in reverse. And a small trail of black dust on the pavement from that side. Could that mean new rotor and pads are needed and which on the NAPA site would be best for this car?

Discs, drums, springs for what? Sounds like you need to book it in somewhere.

Yes, needing new springs could be suspension related or to the components in a brake drum assembly or rear disc park brake, we weren't even sure what the car had. Says rotors and pad so assume rear discs but...

Those would be for drum brakes. So again we ask, what is yours?
