I have a 97 Firebird and my fan motor stopped one day. All three positions won't work. Is it the blower motor or the fan resiter? Last spring I resoldered the spots on the cicuirt board for the window and radio to operate normally. Now the blower fan has stopped. My battery has been weak for a while and it was almost dead when I had to jump start it. After that the blower fan has stopped working completely. I'm sure the two things aren't related; but it has me thinking. The car is put away for the winter so it gives me time to look into it. Any help would be great. Thanks, Rex

Check the HVAC fuse. If it's ok, the blower motor is probably dead. It's not too hard to change out, under the passenger side dash.

By the way, there should be 4 positions, 3 use the resistor pack and the highest feeds directly to the motor through a relay.

Thanks again Gary, you helped me with my radio and window issue last summer. Resoldered the joints on the borad. Working fine now.
