im going to go ahead and do a tune up just to make sure thats the reason for it shifting at almost 4 rpms and smoke coming fromt he oil stick.
i want to get NGK spark plugs , which ones are the best for the v6 3800. i know theres irdium and others but i dont which ones are the right ones for a v6. and does anyone know what to gap them at. im ordering off line soo.

There was a service bulletin in 2003 from GM which stated the new recommended gap was O.O40.
NGK or AC Delco plugs will be fine.

I believe Pete was saying that they had a TSB MADE in 2003, for the previous years. I would go with platinum's.

Saw this late but i used to run NGK TR55's. GREAT plug, found out after buying Bosch platinum +4's which made the car run like crap.

Or specs for the 3.8 liter V6 are gap at .060 and the very best plug for it is, seeing that Iridium's came stock in it so for best results is put them back in so AC Delco Iridium's part number 41-101 are the plugs to go with with
