I have a 94 TA that I ordered new in 93. I am the only owner/driver. I have had it in storage for the last 20 years and I have just gotten an interest in getting back on the road. So years ago I would start it periodically. The radio was LOC and I tried a few codes with no luck. So now the radio screen is blank and I cannot get anything to show on it. I should add that it has the 10 speaker system with CD and EQ if that matters. The battery had long ago gone down. I saw the other posts that describe how to get it unlocked but I cannot get to that point to start. Any suggestions on how to "reset" it or places to send it? This car has been stored inside and has 27,985.5 miles on it. I appreciate your help and hopefully I get to share pics soon.

To start, the radios leave the factory without any sort of Theftlock code programmed in. The owner's manual has instructions on how to select a code and program it. Do you recall selecting a code and programming the radio? (I realize it may be quite some time since you've done that.) Does the red light near the word "Theftlock" flash? (It will flash with the car on or off if the radio is locked with a code.)

I believe there are posts on this site about unlocking the Theftlock radio by calling a 1-800 phone number and entering dealer codes. It also involves pressing and holding preset numbers on the radio and writing down numeric codes that appear on the display.

There's a good possibility that the lamp that backlights the LCD clock display has burned out. There are several posts on this website about replacing that bulb. Start with those and let us know what happens! :)

Correct. The light does flash and Im sure at some point in time I set a code. I had tried once before to unlock it with no luck. I have searched the other posts and they all relate to being able to see LOC on the screen. I cannot get anything to happen on the screen before being able to proceed with the unlock sequence. I do recall LOC being on the screen previously when I tried. All blank now?

The lamp behind the display is likely burned out or backed off of its ground on the circuit board. It's a common problem with that style of radio. They don't use a vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) like the Camaros did. Here is a post that describes the bulb replacement:
