Looking to maybe RE-CREATE the Two on the left Exhaust that comes with the 94 firehawk. supposed gains were 15 ish hp.... (GM numbers). I want the HP gains, but i'd like to keep the exhaust note a bit quieter than just a 80 series flowmaster... i think i understand the stock piping is 2.75 inches, or 3 inches, and that honestly is more than my stock car could utilize, but i expect the muffler is the most restrictive part. looking for Sound Advice on what to do.. Full Catback from magnaflow is the default here... but i'm worried it will be loud as a honda... not what i want. Also, its 500 stinking dollars.... the picture shows its a muffler, 3 pieces of pipe, two tips, and clamps... seems like Bogus money to me....

HELP PLEASE!!!

The restriction in the stock system is the 2.75" intermediate pipe and a 2.5" inlet on the cross-flow muffler. A quality catback, with a 3" mandrel bent IM pipe is good for at least 12 HP. I had a Callaway CAI and a Borla catback on my 94 when it was still new, and still stock, and picked up 3/10ths in the quarter mile. Simply switching to an 80-series Flowmaster will not change much except the noise level.

Get the Borla adjustable (even more expensive than the Magnaflow). Can make it as loud or as quiet as you like. Here's a dyno test of the Borla compared to the WS6 exhaust, which is already an upgrade from the stock LT1 exhaust:
