94 Formula Has Been Sold - But not forgotten

On March 20 I closed a deal on selling my 1994 Firebird - purchased new 27.5 years ago. This heavily modified car had been sitting in my garage undriven, for several years. I've reached the age (80 years old) where I'm not capable of maintaining it and continuing to modify it. I had never reached my goal of making a 9-second pass, even though the car was fully capable of it.

I had several people interested, but they seemed to want to convert it back to a "street" car, and that was at odds with what I wanted for the car. I was looking for someone who fully understood the car and wanted to continue on my path to proving its capabilities.

I was fortunate to find someone "local"... someone who had admired the car for years, someone I had helped several times on the ltxtech.com site, and someone who was obviously "hands on" capable of continuing my work at my high standards. I will have every opportunity to watch the progress, and be present when it fulfills my goals,

Off it goes, into the sunset:

fred i do not think he was implying that it was a half assed build. just the sheer weight of the car is part of the reason its running what most head/cam lt1 cars run (that arent caged, turbo 400, gear vendors, S-60, etc) ive been battling that too with it. i understand why it was built the way you had it built originally, im just trying to keep its glory alive and give it a little more glory by unlocking the potential that is there..
And I have no problem with what you are doing. My problem was the seeming assumption on his part that nothing had been done in the way of a serious build. All he had to do was look at my signature to see that it was a serious build.

Yes, I'm old and I'm grumpy, and I don’t take negativity well.

Spot on ..

See this is why I don't like text messages and stuff like that because if we were actually talking in person and talking on the phone or something like that you would know that I wasn't trying to be negative just trying to find out where the loss ET was...
If I wanted to be negative I would have said something like 800 horsepower and 800 ft lb of torque my eye...lol...
Like I said in the past almost every time if not every time I appreciate your technical support with my new car purchase. But if asking questions or questioning your methods for my own knowledge constitutes arguing than so be it..
I'll just cancel my subscription here and if I need any technical support I'll just look up past threads I'm sure there isn't anything that hasn't been covered by now...
Be old grumpy with people who enjoy it
11.67 at 116.89 best on motor so far, that was yesterday in bad da (2000ft) with high humidity and cold temps
I hadn’t looked at this thread since my previous post. Obviously it's gone onto the crapper, and has outlived its usefulness. I'm going to close it, probably delete it. You and I can just continue on ltxtech.com
OK. Couldn’t sit on this time slip. 150-shot of nitrous……. Hope he has a video.

Hail mary pass on the old 90° valve Nos bottle from 1996 LOL!! 150 shot jets

The track was slick about 150-200ft out and i kept rattling the tire. The last pass they gave me a bye which was unexpected, along with N/T on the boards (there was a grudge race for 2k going on right after me)

It actually hooked. Now we are going to work on the 60ft and fine tune the nitrous, it was a hair lean, i think i left the fuel jet from last years 10.84 in it which was down 2 sizes with the old cam.

Thank you Fred, for trusting me with this car

Another day, another pass……

I see a 9-second pass in the near future. Gonna have to use the Gear Vendors O/D.

Hoping i dont have to use the gear vendors lol. I think she has enough rpm left if the 60ft comes down to break into the 9's without using it. Crossed the stripe at 7k

Man that thing sounds sweet. From reading the other posts and seeing the car it's the same color as the one I just picked up.
All original dark green metallic (except for upgrade Ram Air HO hood).

Damn! I knew it could do it…. but not on a 200, thought it would take more than that. Your cam and converter really woke it up.

Nice air under those skinnies. 60-ft is a huge improvement.

Thank you ! ! !
