None modification was neccessary, I have installed it in the existing space between the front nose and hood. The scanner is remote controled, change color ( you chose 1 of 7 and it will work with the chosen color) , multi-effect, when the power is turned on after cutoff, the mode setting will be the same as before the power turn-off.
