Has everyone seen this? Just wanted to throw it out there in case anyone hasn't. I remember someone saying they couldn't find a place for a sub in their 'bird, this is perfect for anyone with a 4th gen. Fits in the weird triangular spot in the trunk, $80. I can't wait to buy one and get all my trunk space back.

The only thing about those subthump boxes is most subs like ported enclosures, they like to breathe there are certain SQ subs that do very well sealed but most subs are under used when in sealed enclosures.

I dont have enough room in trunk to put a box unless i have it custom made but the guy building my box isnt in tucson so imna put them in the back seat.

I was skeptical when I went to a sealed box (Subthump's Milhouse box, unfortunately discontinued). Going from a 10" bazooka tube (ported) to the millhouse (sealed), I expected cleaner sound but thought the overall output was going to be lower.

I was wrong (about the lower output)! Even though the box is sealed, my JL 12w3v2 thumps hard making it sound like a ported box, and has FAR exceeded my expectations! Clean AND loud!

Bottom line -- sealed boxes can sound loud too when paired with the right woofer.....

Too loud? ...no such thing!

I was using the typical 4th gen sealed box for my 12's. No complaints about bass or thump, it was amazing. As you say, way more bass than one would expect from a sealed box, but, that's our glorious rear hatch performing a bit of concert hall magic for us. You're dead on about the right woofer. My issue was just that. The entire box for the two 12's is less than half the optimal air volume for just one of my 12's in a sealed enclosure. I was mostly amazed at how well it did sound and how low it was dropping, but I always knew a woofer matched to the box would have performed better. ...and that's what people overlook, the airspace. So many buy the prefab boxes without a moments consideration as to what the woofer wants. ...but, they hook it up, it thumps a bit, booms a bit, rattles the rearview, and that's good enough. ...when they could have one speaker put into a proper custom enclosure and make the steering wheel flex front to back a half inch as their brains liquify and pour from their ears.

If I ever get another amp capable of pushing my 12's, I'm removing the seperator in the box and plugging off one of the holes. One 12 given 1/2 its optimal volume of air should sound orders of magnitude better than 2 12's operating in 1/4 of the optimal air volume.

I knew a kid back in the late 80's who had one 8" speaker in a bandpass box on a Punch 45 in the back of his 3rd gen. It was amazing, you could hear sir-mix-a-lot from a good 5 blocks away.

Sealed, Ported, Bandpass. Each has their place, pros and cons. Sealed is the best all around box IMO, never a muddy note with a sealed box, no port flutter, nice tight bass,. ...love 'em. Love band passes even more but there's not much hope of those in our cars. Recently, I lost my faithful MTX Thunder 225HO. I'm down to ONE 16 year old Bazooka EL604 in the rear on some $89 "250w" Circuit City MTX amplifier. Thanks to the hatch, it is most impressive for what it is. My car doesn't sound like it has "just a 6" in the trunk. ...doesn't sound like 2 1,200w aluminum cone 12" DVCs at a half ohm either.

Didn't think so either, until I recently blew out my JL 12w3v2-D4 subwoofer (actually just one of the voice coils stopped working) and replaced it with the JL 12w3v3 (2-ohm version so I can get 400 watts RMS from my amp).

I am completely blown away with the difference the "next-gen" version of the same woofer made (in the same box)! I will say it's too loud since my ears hurt if I turn it up loud for 5-10 minutes.....this didn't happen until 20 minutes on the old subwoofer!

Hi guyz. I'm gonna make one or a pair of stealth sub boxes.

I want to make a sub box like below

Ke1dWqS.jpg

But I can't find the dimensions to cut out the MDF in the right way.

Can somebody help me and measure your sub box and make a drawing.

Or maybe there is a ready drawing. I found nothing.

I think sub box would be much better than infiniti fx35 bose spare tyre sub, wich i can install instead of my spare

That is awesome! Thanks for sharing! Too bad I only have 15's though....Doesn't look like a 15 will fit in that space.
They make 15 inch box for it dual 15s at that ...https://www.ebay.com/itm/Fits-Chevy-Camaro-1993-2002-15-Dual-Sub-Box-Subwoofer-Enclosure-Speaker-Box-/255003339488?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
