Hey guys,

just starting some kind of a build thread,

bought a few days ago a 97 bird with the 3.8 , Y87 code, black with grey interiors, t-top and manual tranny.

i love it, but it needs major works,

i already left it in a body shop because the previous owner hit a pole coming out of a corner (yup he spun, and he hugghed the pole with a door...).

it has some rust all over the under carriage.

interiors are in pieces, i need a lot of interior parts (gonna open a thread soon) starting from the upper part of the dash (the one that faces the windshiels, to sun visors, radio, ebrake bezel, radio and so on.

i also need to do a full tune up with new fluids.

only mod is the alluminum DS

if you want to follow me on youtube this is my channel (no bird yet on it)

and insta

238000ish km

any input is much appreciated

thanks!

Hey guys,
Just passed inspection!
Hey guys,

quick dumb question, as you know, my 3.8 is burning shi*load of oil (let's say 1 quart every 1000 miles) with 20w50.

i'm thinking, since i have to change it, so switch back to 10w40 full synt.

it' gonna burn it anyway, but at least i won't be running jelly-oil.

what do you think?

thanks
hey guys,

quick update, i finally received my nef maf sensor. looks like i solved the stalling issue.

also had to put some grease on door hinges

i also placed an order for a nice original steering wheel, lil bit of a pita to have it shipped on this side of the pond lol
yesterday night i installed yellow fog lights, looks super cool...still need adjustment though.

the cheap ebay maf didn't last 10 days, i already got it refunded.

now i bought another from hitachi, same make i was running.

abs driving me crazy...

hi guys,

a pic of the remainings of the elbow and a pic of my older pcv, i replaced it with a newer one a couple of nights back.

hoping to get a little improvement in oil consumption.

Curious to hear how that turns out.
i'm trying to take notes on oil consumption, but it ain't easy...ain't precise.
i forgot,

on the 11th march this bird has been with me for a year, about 18000km on it.

about 4000 on my grand cherokee in the same time.
just befere getting qurantined i had the chance for another speed test, run out of road though. will try again lol

That's about all the faster I've gotten my Trans Am the one time I felt the time, place, and conditions were safe. But I think maybe the penalty for exceeding the speed limit isn't quite as severe for you. Half that speed around where I live is still breaking the law by 40KPH and incurs severe penalties.

I get my kicks literally idling down the road at 75KPH.

Lucky you!
Hi,

just before you think bad things about me lol

keep in mind that i've never done any drugs in my life, never been drunk (i'm actually sober since forever), i don't even eat sweets because i'm fit lol.

i try those speed tests very rarely and on "private" roads with walls on both sides during night time with no one around.

good tires and good brakes are a must.

the only rear risk is tu hurt myslef, but i've been living with it since i was borne lol

(always like extreme sports).

now i'm into the red zone quarantine area though...can't even work on my car in my own garage.

i've never been so sad in my life...i lost interest in a lot of stuff :(

the bird is been sitting for a while now :(

edit: forgot the most important thing, i'm always alone in my car while spirited driving. zero passegners, not even my closest friends. if i have my gf in my car i'm below the speed limits, i'll do couple of donuts at the most.
