I've seen very few 1.5 DIN units over the years, and all were of questionable quality. Get a 1 DIN with flip out touch screen, or do whatever needs to be done to hack a 2 DIN into the location. There is an "in-between" option. ...this Jensen: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_110CMM710/Jensen-CMM710.htmlIt's a single-din unit with a 10.1" touchscreen offset a bit from the face. Would fit without the need to "modify" anything while still offering a large touchscreen, though, I can not say if it would interfere with climate-controls. Not a fan of Jensen personally, but throwing it out there as a potential compromise. 3rd and 4th gens are as different as they are the same. I doubt you'd have to modify (cut) much away to fit a double-din unit, but, I recommend against it for several reasons. First being, it's not necessary. ;)

There's also the "RetroSound" route.

Those give you OEM look and fitment with all the modern features.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the input! The flip up screen units concern me because I, too, thought about interference with the other controls. I also looked at the "retro" units and they are TOO retro for me.

A friend of mine used to have a flip up screen unit which would close and recess back inside the unit (and still play) but I don't see anything like that now.

I also have an option to have the existing radio refurbed which would be nice but I would prefer to have Bluetooth and the Bluetooth cassette adapters are iffy at best.

Thanks for the help!

Any 2 DIN will fit, it's just a "modified" fit. There is a small amount of trimming to be done. Nothing major or structural. Might not even interfere with reinstalling the factory radio again.

If you plan on just using bluetooth, you could buy an amp with built-in bluetooth, wire it to the speakers, and bypass the factory unit altogether. For the longest time, I plugged my mp3 player directly into my crossovers input. didn't even have a head unit.

Kenwood's cheap Excelon units are about the best under $200. It's funny to say cheap and Excelon in the same sentence. Excelon used to be their top-of-the-line starting at $600 and going well over $1,000. Now, for $150 you get "Excelon" and all the goodies like bluetooth, eq, color change led, etc.
