I realize I recently asked two separate questions on the top-end of my 350, but after good advice from this forum I decided not to mess with a good running engine. ( for now lol)
So back to my original plan to upgrade my suspension and handling. I also own a 2008 Mustang GT and my favorite part of that car is how it rides. Stiff, responsive and always feel like your in control.
I have a stock 72 Firebird and plan on getting year one rally II's in the near future. My question is what are the first things I should do to the car, I want to do the following but would like to know what are the priorities, what should be first or in order to be most efficient or cost effective.
1) Brakes - are not good at all mushy and unresponsive. I want to get larger front disk, but do I need rear disk? What size and brand should I go with in front?
2) steering box - I want to get one of the quick ratio boxes, but I don't want to spin the wheel with my pinky, I want the steering to be stiff and take effort to turn. Which brand box?
3) sway bars - stock base firebird so I don't have them, which ones to get and can they be installed easy on a car that did not have them before?
4) subframe connectors - is this an essential?
5) what else do I need to do and in what order
Thanks I know it's a lot of question from a new member, but I promise to pass on the knowledge as I learn from the members here.
Forgot to say this - my goal is to have a fun car to drive on weekends and days off, road performance (not drag strip) but I do not want a floaty nose diving Buick, I want it to drive like the way it looks
