welcome to FBN,Joe the heater cores are kind of a PITA to replace, but can easily be done in a weekend.

When I did mine I had ALOT of fun. It was one of the most pleasurable experiences in my entire life.

In all seriousness, I think I used the guide that was linked, and it was very helpful.

A couple things to consider.

When I took my car apart to change this 1 item, I found a couple other things wrong. All the foam was shot in the heating ducts. I think there are 2 or 3 foam seals in there. It was so bad, that the dash was always covered with bits of foam and stuff. As far as I recall, I just used canopy foam to replace it, as I didn't have the proper stuff available (it's used between the box of a truck and a canopy, and is 1/4-1/2 inch think. I also took the opportunity to thoroughly clean the entire Duct system. Also, you may consider replacing the heater hoses while you have it all apart. It shouldn't cost too much for the materials.

Good Luck
also i change the fan blower motor at the same time.
