Hi there, a few days ago I lost my clutch and saw that all fluid had leaked out so began inspecting the hydraulic system. Turns out the slave cylinder (or release cylinder) housing broke where the little metal clip clips into and holds everything inside.

The car is a 87 Trans Am with the 305 tpi.

The Haynes manual says you have to replace the entire hydraulic assembly (master cylinder, lines, slave cylinder and fluid compartment all in one sealed assembly), and I can't find one in any junkyards and GM wants over $300 for a new one (part 12527718). Seems way too much for such a simple problem. Anyone knows if its possible to replace only the slave cylinder, or even rebuild it? Thanks any help would be greatly apreciated!
