Hi All,

I am posting this update on the Connecticut forum site for COF members and all FBN members.

2009 Cruise Night - 40th Anniversary Trans Am Cruise.

Yes it is hard to believe but Trans Am is 40 years old in 2009….

Here is an update… we are assembling a COMPLETE YEAR COLLECTION of Firebirds from 1967 to 2002 for a Special Cruise Night.

We will need Firebirds, Formulas or Trans Ams to represent each year… as many cars per year to represent every year.

I have arranged to have a photographer that would be willing for a reasonable fee to take a proof photo of your car to either be mailed or printed on site. …maybe it would be possible to even make a glossy catalog and calendar with cruise photos of all the cars.

Charter Oak Firebirds 40th Anniversary Trans Am Cruise

Time: 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM

Display Cars arrive at 3:30 PM

Date: Saturday, June 20, 2009

Rain Date: Saturday, June 27, 2009

Location:

Panera Bread

3120 Berlin Turnpike RTE 15

Newington, CT

1.This cruise is being held at a Panera Bread restaurant mall parking lot off of the Berlin Turnpike (RTE 15) in central Connecticut that will be convenient to Firebird owners in southern New England.

2.This is a commitment so you will need to be there. We would need Firebirds, Formulas or Trans Ams to represent each year. Multiple cars per year are encouraged.

3.Map directions, times and cell phone contacts will be provided those who will participate.

4.
Display cars will be separated from the other cars so we need to determine the total numbers of cars per year and allow enough space in each area. Space is critical so we must have pre REGISTRATION only.

5.
Cars will be designated into each of the four generations of Firebirds.

6.
Since all Firebirds will be allowed to participate via pre REGISTRATION only, all other walk in Firebirds will be in the general cruise show area.

7.
Do we have every year covered? We will need 36 Firebirds….
1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002.

8.We have every year covered except for 1972, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1981, 1982, 1988, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001.

9.Can we get help from other Firebird friends in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut to bring their cars?

Larry E.

Rich,

We could certainly use your 1975 Trans Am because we do not have one in the club, but I understand that a trip from Newport News, Virginia to Connecticut would be 9 hours one way.

At least once a year I get down to Virginia Beach and Newport News VA to visit friends who used to work at Electric Boat Shipbuilding in southern CT, now they work for Newport News Shipbuilders in VA.

I will post many photos of the event on FBN. Thanks for the support!

Yes I'm a member and have been for quite a while now. I haven't made it to a Panera Bread cruise yet and this looks like one not to be missed.
