Bought 4 birds this year, different years and colors. They all have massive peeling clearcoat. A dark red one under the clearcoat actually looks pretty sharp, except its more like semi gloss house paint and I assume couldn't be kept clean. Question is, is there a way of removing the clear without harming the underlying paint? Every few weeks a little more becomes raised and I finger nail it off but that will take me 50 years, lol Second question: If it cant be taken off, to repaint the car ALL of the paint has to be sanded off, correct? Im trying to cut costs.

Probably don't have to remove all of the original paint but you will want to remove the clear coat before repainting. Without seeing it in person that's about all I can say. Bodywork is time consuming, be prepared.
