Hello everybody! I just recently purchased my first firebird to work on. I have a 1979 red firebird with 88k original miles on it. I'm excited to begin working on this classic and teaching my sons about the car. My first car was a 1991 firebird I bought the summer I turned 16 and I have been wanting to get another Firebird ever since. This will be my first time fixing up a piece of american history so I look forward to all the advice and guidance this board has to offer. I am already thinking about projects and spending way too much money in my online shopping cart.

First projects I want to tackle are:
Replace the 2 barrel carb with a 4 barrel
Replace the stock headers with Hooker headers
Replace the Y pipe and make it an X pipe exhaust
Replace manifold covers

Do anybody have any suggestions on what is a good first project to start with?

Also I believe I have the Olds 403 V8 but I am not positive. How do I make sure so I don't purchase the wrong parts?

Thanks again for allowing me to join and share my story with y'all!Attached File  FB_IMG_1590107397198.jpg   148.26KB   0 downloads
