Hello, I am restoring an '84 firebird with my dad, we pulled the gas tank and the fuel sending unit and both need replacement. I had no trouble finding a new tank but cannot find a fuel sending unit for my year anywhere, any ideas where I could find a usable fuel sending unit???

Thanks!

You could try ebay but make sure you check the fit and it will work with that car ask the seller. LKQ parts just do a google search. Have you tried to call a gm dealer ?

Ive tried ebay and couldnt find anything. Ive tried many GM parts sites online, they all show the part as discontinued and unavailable.

For something like the fuel sending unit, you'll have to check ebay, craigslist, offerup, etc on a regular basis.

Here's a salvage yard search engine. I'd search the entire country to see if you can find one.http://www.car-part.com

And try Frank's pontiac parts. He handles many new & used parts. And I'd do a google search for Pontiac firebird parts. You might get lucky and find a nos unit. But expect to pay mucho $$$$.

Sometimes we have to look to Camaro.  Do any of these match?

Or

...and seconded on Frank's Pontiac Parts.

I see sending units for everything but 1984.  However, Ricks Camaro lists his as 1984-1992.  Maybe an oversight, maybe '84 is unique, but there are the part numbers in those links you can look at / cross reference.
