Driving at hwy speed and gauge dropped to zero. Fans came on full speed. No previous issue with temperature gauge. Coolant temp sensor I'm thinking, happened yesterday

That would be my guess. Last week, my oil pressure dropped to zero and it was a bad oil pressure sensor.

Yep that was it. Drove about 8 miles then parked and idled. cranked up the ac till fans came on at low speed. It's located below the throttle body
