New here, have this original in my 1975 T/A. Been in the car over 25 years, not sure what happened to the Trans Am it was in. Guessing I'm looking at the partial VIN which is stamped on the face of the passenger's head? Letter "C" followed by a 6 digit sequential numeric build...?

The vin will be along side the lower part of the pass side of the timing cover down about 1/2 way.The number under the head is the EUN number and the engine code.Vin is a little tough to find when in the car if much paint or road grime on it.Tom

There's a C171812 with WC below the number on the passenger head...

For 71, the vin number will be near/below the water pump, towards the passenger side. It can be very hard to read depending on the layers of paint, and easier to read from underneath the car.

RIP Jay - So glad to have known you
