Has anyone ever purchased a flip up navigation radio for your car? There is a vast amount of price difference between a named brand like Panasonic and cheap named brands like Jensen. There are also a ton of Chinese made that have bluetooth and navigation for about $200. Is it worth spending $500 more for the names brands?

Depends what you want out of the radio.
If you're not going to add components and subs, get what you want from the cheap brands.
If you are going to amplify the signal for components and subs, yes, you get what you pay for.
Look at specs more than price.
The units with higher voltage on the RCA plugs is going to be louder and hit much harder.
Not sure I would be looking at flip up units though. They will most likely completely or partially cover the center vents, and running A/C or heat right up against the LCD doesn't seem smart in my book.
...ultimately, the choice is yours. Get what your ears like and your budget allows.
Remember this though. If you plan to install a full system, it will only be as good as the cheapest component.
