Mounted the dash carrier just to see how it looks.  Closer to purchasing the new wiring harness.

Working on sound deadening, doors finished.. working on floor pan.

So my power steering has been squealing as soon as I start to turn the wheel.  I first checked the fluid level then decided to run the engine and check the belt and that is what I found.

It is rubbing against the alternator and fraying the edge of the belt.

I see a new belt in my future.

I guess I will replace the belt when I drain the radiator and install the hose springs.

Love the spacer/mounting plate!

I purchased aftermarket New Vintage USA white gauges for my 67.  The problem is that they are for a 69 firebird which has a different dash carrier.

There is an additional adapter and three cheezy clips to 'attach' the gauges to the dash carrier, yea no.

After several days of exchanging emails and phone calls with NVU, I had no real direction.

So I decided that I would purchase another original gauge cluster and rear housing so I could figure out what I could modify to mount these gauges.

While waiting for the camaro housing (didn't want to cut my original housing), I decided that I could design a spacer and mounting plate.  So I drew the spacer and template in CAD, checking the dimensions many times and finally send the file to the CNC shop.

The pictures below is what came back, I had to grind off some material off the mounting plate tabs (made them larger on purpose) and drilled the mounting holes.

Everything seems to fit nice and snug.

And I received my new steering wheel.

Those spacers are awesome Dirk.  Nice Job!

Sound deadening moving along slowly.

I think I will be replacing the power steering pump, all arrows point to that.
