Hi guys i have 95 trans am i just put the pacesetter long tube headers and i belive there 3 inch i need to install a new exhaust system but dnt want to spend that much cause ive spent too much on the car already lol by my headers being 3 inch does that mean i have to run 3 inch pipe with 3 inch muffler on it?or can i run 2 1/2 pipe with muffler? is that gonna make it loose performance?i hope u guys help me out and give me ideas of what route can i take to save money but then yet make it sound nice thanks

What is the level of modifications to the engine? Two 2.5" pipes should be adequate for a relatively stock engine, or even one that is moderately modified. I run 3" muffler/pipe all the way (turndowns before the axle) on each side, but that's at the 800HP level. Power adders - forced induction and nitrous - need large exhaust systems.

You need to make sure the transition from the 3" collectors to the 2.5" exhaust pipe is smooth, not an abrupt change. Figure 8" to 12" long transition. As the exhaust cools, the volume drops, and pipe size becomes less critical.

At this point, I don't understand your question. Are you asking about a Y-pipe system for an LS1 being installed on your 95?

Without seeing the system, there is no way I can tell you if "if there tru dual or glass pack". That's confusing - being a true dual system does not depend on whether it uses glass pack mufflers.

Do you have a link to the system you are thinking about buying?

If you live in metro Phoenix you will need catalytic converters as well, if you want to drive it on the street.

They do a visual/rolling dyno emission test on pre obd2.

A stock LS1 system will not 'bolt right up' to a LT1 with headers, and it is not a 'true dual system'.

On the less than 1% chance it is an aftermarket 'true dual', it will not bolt up.

Is this a DIY job? Or are you going to have a shop fab this all up for you?

Maybe this will help:

A STOCK LS1 SYSTEM WILL NOT BOLT UP TO A LTI WITH HEADERS ON IT, AT ALL, EVER, WITHOUT MODIFICATION.

IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT KIND OF MUFFLER/S ARE ON IT, AT ALL.

GO HERE AND LEARN ABOUT IT---http://www.rockauto.com/

Look up YOUR car, look up a 1999, use your brain, and go LOOK at the thing you keep ASKING about.

The GUY on craigslist may not know his ass from a hole in the ground
