TMI One Piece Headliner

Was wondering if anyone has successfully installed one of these in a '68 Firebird.

I assume you are talking about a headliner that's attached to a foam board.

 

If this is true, I'd stay away from this type. All newer GM cars have this type of headliner. They are guaranteed to have headliner start to droop & fall off after about 10 years, give or take. Where you live makes a big difference. Here in Florida, where it's hot and humid for most of the year, headliners deteriorate fairly quickly.

 

So if you plan on keeping your bird for the long run, buy & install the old fashioned type headliner.

I think the TMI piece is fiberglass with the vinyl glued to it.  They look awesome and installation is a breeze (from what I have read).  Here is a pic of one in a Mustang..

i install one in my 67 firebird couple months ago...fit like a glove with a little trimming of the fibreglass in some areas...it looks sweet

With the board being fiberglass, it won't degrade like the oem foam boards do.

it is actually fairly ridgid and is held up by sunvisor bracket,rear view bracket,interior light and the sail panels...it looks killer..
