So I decided to go to the strip and have a little fun. Had the '02 T/A about a month now. A lot to learn in 1 day.

1st I had to learn the burnout with a 6 speed with no line lock. Lol and remembering to turn the TCS off. I only did that once but it was embarassing at the time but funny after.

2nd I had to learn how to leave on the brake and launch AND not blow the tires off or tire shake my teeth out. (I did both)

I did learn a lot and had a lot of fun. 5 runs total with a huge improvement each run.

Ran a 2000 Stock Camaro SS & 2010 stock Mustang and won both by over 5 tenths. Got my taint handed to me by a 04 Corvette. My buddies '99 Firehawk had a best time of 13.70

My ride:

Bone stock '02 T/A (Not WS6) with a SLP lid only and stock 16x8 street tires
: I didn't list the 5th run cause I tried to launch a little harder and I rattled my teeth out and I backed out for a second or so to be able to see. Track was really tacky and I'm no master of the clutch yet.

1st run:
60' 2.235
330 5.995
1/8 9.023
MPH 81.56
1/4 13.77 @ 101.36

2nd run:
60' 2.134
330 5.878
1/8 8.882
MPH 82.15
1/4 13.605 @ 104.10

3rd run:
60' 2.112
330 5.853
1/8 8.837
MPH 82.60
1/4 13.537 @ 104.70

4th run (Best run)
60' 1.987
330 5.748
1/8 8.725
MPH 83.24
1/4 13.359 @ 106.79

For an M6, and street tires, those are very good 60-fts by the end. What kind of air temps did you have? The MPH on that last run is indicating a very healthy stock engine.

I never did a burnout with street tires.... just seemed to make 'em slipperier. I would only do a dry hop to get any pebbles off the tread. And if you do a burnout, its usually best to drive around the box and back into it, so you don't get the front tire tread full of water that drips all over the starting line.

No way to drive around these water boxes. Not enough room. Believe me I didn't want to do a heel toe burnout in front of anybody today. Wasn't too bad though. Air temp today was hot as hell. Around 80-81 degrees. I know it was hot in a black car with a helmet on! Humidity wasn't very high though. The motor pulls hard and I did a pretty good job on shifting I thought. Smooth and quick shifts. I was shocked when I had to shift to 4th the first run. Kinda caught me off guard.

Nice runs. Speeds show potential for better times. Check this calculator out, gives you something to shoot for. Cool to see another South Carolina member on here.

I think a little seat time might push it closer to 12's. I know the motor is strong. LS1 with the stock LS6 intake I think likes the lid. I think my changing my shift points might help a little too. It felt like it was still pulling when I shifted each time.

Wow! really nice runs! http://www.firebirdnation.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/rockon22.gifI'm with Injuneer, your 60 foots are damn good for a 6 speed with street tires! I think your car has 12's in it. If you look in my sig, I don't have any big mods at all and I'm able to consistently run 12.8's and I'm an auto with 2.73's. Haven't taken her down the track since the dyno tune though.
