Hello everybody,

Hi, I'm from Austria and found this site hoping it can solve some of my problems.

I've rebuilt my 3.4 Firebird of 1994 with a L36 3.8 engine, many work, but it's my hobby and I really like to screw at F-Bodies.

Now to my problem: I've bought a keyless entry system and want to built it in, my 1994 Firebird has a BCM like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/...sQ5fAccessories

Now I need the wiring diagram for this BCM, the diagrams in haynes and chilton will not fit for the 1994...

Thank you very much for your help.

Best wishes from Austria,
moha2

Here is the keyless remote entry electrical diagram for the 1994 Firebird. I can scan in anything else you need for the 94 if this doesn't help.

Hello Bob,

Thanks a lot, but I bleieve, I have no keyless entry system built in, only the BCM, same as the link above (sorry - it's a ebay-link...).

That's why I bought a whole keyless entry set and want to build it in, but the cable colours are not the same as in haynes or chilton manual... - that's the problem...

Other theme: You look like me! My wife has seen your pic and thought, it's my account... my twin in the USA!!!

Best wishes from Austria,
moha2

I have exact the BCM (see the link above) in my 3.4 Firebird of 1994, that's sure. I can make a foto and post it, if you don't believe me...

A photo of the part, and it's location in the car would be a big help. :12EMOTICHEERS:

The BCM looks exactly like this at the link above, location is at the passenger side under / behind the glove box.
I can make a foto tomorrow, if you need...

1994 does NOT have a full body control module (BCM). The BCM was not added to the F-Bodys (Camaro/Firebird) until the 1996 model year. The 94 and 95 have several individual systems, that were later incorporated into the BCM - like the retained accessory power (RAP) module, the keyless entry module, etc. Shoebox has a great site for the 93-97 4th Gens, and here is his photo of the 95 keyless entry module. Your 94 will be identical, just like my 94:

Other photos that might be or interest:

I did a search on the part number (16176558) on the part you linked, and that is the DERM (air bag diagnostic energy reserve module). It is NOT a BCM.

Did your Firebird leave the factory with a keyless entry system? If it did, the build code tag will show RPO "AU0".

Hello Fred,

Thank you very much for your answer. This will help...

I've even thought of that this module is something for the airbags, because it has the yellow plug....

The built code tag is in the glove box??? Or where can I find it?

Is there anywhere a VIN decoder, where I can list all the options of my car?
[The online decoder I knew is not longer available]

If my car has this keyless option, can I use every remote or have I to buy the original remotes??

My set is complete with receiver and 2 remotes, but without a BCM I don't know how to build it in, but I will search tomorrow, if can find the manual... I absolutely want remotes.
I've blown so many money in my car this year, new coloured in black, new wheels and tires, the new 3.8 L36 engine and so much more, too much to list... I don't want to fail in building it this F**king keyless entry...

Best regards and wishes from Austria / Europe and thank you all for your help,
Hannes

Your best bet is going to be installing an aftermarket keyless entry system. The installation of a factory keyless entry system is possible, however, in my humble opinion you will spend more hours than you want to think about wiring it in. The wiring diagram for that system makes even my head spin.

Hello Simon,

Yes, I have power locks and I have already bought a aftermarket keyless entry, and have studied the wiring diagrams right now, so I will build it in today or tomorrow.
Is there anything special, I have to notice?
The power locks have negativ and positiv triggers, am I right?

Thanks...

Good luck Hannes, and if you need any other wiring diagrams, just let me know and I will scan them in for you. :12EMOTICHEERS:
